Parents abandon court battle

PINELLAS PARK - Terri Schiavo's parents abandoned their battle in federal court, lost what their lawyers called the final appeal in state court and went into seclusion Saturday night, essentially ending their legal crusade to keep their daughter alive.

Brother Paul O'Donnell said Saturday night that the family would be giving no more interviews. He renewed pleas for action by Gov. Jeb Bush. And he asked supporters gathered outside Schiavo's hospice to ``go home, be with your children, hold them close.
