FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The Weyerhaeuser Co. has announced plans to close or sell containerboard, packaging, bag and papermaking operations in eight U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, the latest in a series of cutbacks since a steep drop in third-quarter profits.
